Tori Huxtable

Bachelor of Information Technology at Flinders University

The DTA Graduate Program gave me the opportunity to work across different teams, take ownership of projects, and see my work have a real impact.

Tell us about your role as a Graduate in the DTA

In my first rotation, with assurance escalations, I was tasked with setting up the monthly casefiles. This involved me using the template and copying the relevant information from the previous month into the next month.

In my second rotation, with strategic engagement, I was given a project we named ‘quick use content’. This had me looking at previously used content for engagements, and talking to all branches within the DTA and figuring out what content was able to be re-used. This content was then passed on to the content and branding team for the final product.

What projects have you worked on

  • Quick use content’ for engagement team.
  • Updating SOP and planning for Playbook for engagement team.
  • Assessment of reports for programs to be potentially escalated.

What was most rewarding about your role in the DTA Graduate Program

The project I worked on in the strategic engagement team. Knowing that the work that I put towards it will be used in the near future, for international delegations and engagements.

Why would you recommend the DTA Graduate Program

The DTA is such a small agency, you get a really personal experience with your supervisor, and you can really make a lot out of the program.
