Join Setia City Mall, the largest mall in Shah Alam, as a Finance Executive (Accounts Payable) to manage invoices and vendor relations.

Your role

Key responsibilities are as follows:

  • Manage the end-to-end Accounts Payable process, ensuring timely and accurate invoice recording and payment.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and fund requests bi-weekly.
  • Ensure expenses and liabilities are accurately recorded in the Accounting System.
  • Process supplier payments according to the Approval Matrix.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Oversee vendor creation and maintain the vendor database.
  • Assist in SST and income tax submissions, audit schedules, and statutory reporting.
  • Support receptionist tasks and other ad hoc duties as assigned by superiors.

About you

Candidates should possess:

  • An accounting qualification.
  • Preferably 1 year of experience in a similar role, though fresh graduates are welcome.
  • Strong communication skills for effective stakeholder collaboration.
  • A proactive, resourceful attitude with a creative approach to problem-solving.

Largely part of the fit out team, I have been responsible for building/pushing programmes, ensuring works are meeting technical specs., documenting quality and sequencing works for partitions, waterproofing, painting and frames/doors. On top of this, I have had exposure to commercial roles through assessing variation claims for subcontractors on-site.

Pros

  • Projects are very interesting and exciting. Systems are well defined, rigorous, and make sense most of the time. People are smart and passionate about the industry.

  • Everyone is understanding of my lack of knowledge in the industry due to lack of experience. They are welcoming and willing to teach the basics about construction.

  • Getting assigned to different roles/areas of the business which helps provide myself more information on the various areas and give me an idea on what area I would want to pursue in the future

Cons

    • Long hours

    • I think the worst thing for me personally is the commute, I spend upwards of 2.5 hours driving per day and if I was to take Public transport it would be 4 hours. However I do have a good understanding of sacrifice and believe it is worth it.

    • I would like to receive more feedback.
