What is the Trainee Program?
Combine your university studies with work experience to build the perfect foundation for your career, all while receiving professional and financial support in a paid role.
To be eligible to join the Trainee Program, you must have two full-time years of study remaining on your undergraduate degree course and have already completed:
Balance is important to us. That's why you'll receive one day of paid study while working four days a week on a paid salary. After this period, take a break from work to complete your degree.
Your Future Team
In the Audit (PwC Private) team, you’ll find yourself in a culture that values curiosity, collaboration and critical thinking. Alongside your peers, you’ll understand and resolve complex issues being faced by high profile retailers in Australia, or work with clients at different stages of their business lifecycle, understand the issues and complexities they face and provide them with meaningful solutions. You'll use problem-solving, integrity and a growth mindset to make an impact with iconic retailers, significant private entities, private equity enterprises and start-ups.
What will a normal day look like?
As a trainee in Audit (PwC Private), you’ll need a degree in Accounting or Finance. You’ll also need to be either an AU citizen, NZ citizen or AU Permanent Resident.
Anticipated start date is January 13, 2025.

Varies from project to project. On my current project this involves creating business and technical requirements, hosting standups, communicating progress to the client, managing the sprint cadence (creating the meetings on outlook), liaising with the QA on test estimates , providing testing assistance when needed and explaining the business requirements to the developers to get the solution design created.
Assisting in conducting internal audits and compliance reviews.
Mainly involved in investment research and operations for providing clients with investment advice.

The office itself is great, especially the access to the cafe where free warm drinks are available before 12. The company has a flexible 'dress for your day' dress code, so people can often come in relaxing clothing, although many still prefer business wear

The working hours can be quite demanding
I think everyone, not just PwC, would like to be paid more for what they do and when compared with other graduate roles we are paid to a similar standard.
Time in grade is the main driver for promotion.
The pressure at times to meet deadlines that may not necessarily be that realistic and the billable hour demands.
There should be more formal training programs for technical skills here.
